Hasandag (3268 m) Winter Climbing hakkında.

Hasandağ volcano is a mountain that overlooks Cappadocia and Salt Lake region like a guard protecting the fertile flat plains of Central Anatolia. It is impossible not to be enchanted by its magnificence, even if you pass through the highways around. As Mt Erciyes, the largest volcano in Central Anatolia, and its brother Hasandağ gave all their volcanic fertility to these plains and became the water source of this basin.

Hasandag, 3268 m high, is undoubtedly another beautiful and attractive mountain trip in winter. We must confess that climbing this mountain without snow is not very attractive for experienced hikers. However in winter or whenever it is covered by snow, it attracts mountaineers and experienced hikers. Moreover, it does not take a long time to reach its peak. If you are at the right time, if your physical condition and experience are sufficient, with a well-prepared organization, you can be at the top of this beautiful mountain in a day or two.

We have already organized a comfortable organization for you in this winter season where you can climb on the weekend. In this trip, we will stay in a pension accommodation, we will do a short training and review. The most experienced mountain guides of our country will also manage these climbs. We definitely recommend this climb to our participants above a certain level of experience and physical condition.

We organize our winter climbing program mostly as pension accommodation. All those who have participated in this organization, which is a much more comfortable option, have been very satisfied with this option.

Both our event itself and our tour leaders are in high demand for this climb. Therefore, we recommend that you act quickly to reserve your place on this climb.

Recommended Personal Equipment

Backpack: It is important that it is large enough to contain the items you will need during the activity you will participate in. We do not recommend carrying items in your hand or by hanging them outside the backpack for camping, climbing and winter activities. For this reason, trekking/mountaineering camping bags with a volume of around 55–65 liters are best suited for such activities.

Rain jacket covers, which are now standard in many bags, are also an important detail needed in rainy weather. If your bag does not have a rain cover, we recommend that you get it extra.

A Boot Suitable for Walking and with a Hard Soldier: For your health, please do not walk for a long time in the field with flexible and soft-soled shoes. If you’re a steady hiker, we recommend getting a hardy, orthopedic-based trekking boot designed for walking.

For winter climbing, we recommend that you join a mountaineering boat with adequate insulation, as hard as possible and with a hard neck.

Let us remind you that water resistance is a sought-after feature in hiking boots in rainy seasons.

Spare Sneakers: We recommend that you bring another spare shoe to be used as a spare shoe after hiking and to leave in the vehicle for our walking tours.

Socks: It is always more comfortable and healthy to walk with synthetic trekking socks with soles and toes supported. We recommend that you have a spare pair of socks with you for all walks. Mountaineering and ski socks are suitable for winter seasons.

Gloves – Hat: It is important to have a set of gloves (inner – middle – outer shell and / or filled gloves) and a beret during cold periods. In nature tours, berets with a design that will cover the ears should be preferred. Please do not neglect your backups against getting wet. It can also be backed up with berets, buffs, headphones and balaklava.

Hat: We recommend that you have a hat with a visor and a structure that will protect your neck from the sun, if possible, in all four seasons. The so-called bandana and buff materials are among the ones we recommend for four seasons instead of a hat or with a hat.

Raincoat / Technical jacket: We strongly recommend using light, breathable and rainproof raincoat-anoraks. Your anoraks should definitely be with us during the autumn-winter season and spring walks.

Raincoat anoraks made of Gore Tex or similar material are always our choice as they evacuate the steam coming out of your body and prevent sweating from the inside to a great extent, as well as being extremely waterproof.

Polar Coats and Warming Clothes: We recommend fleece jackets and half-zip fleece sweatshirts at the beginning of the types of warmer clothing recommended for nature activities, as they are light and do not tend to retain moisture.

Woolen and cotton clothes are not very suitable for nature activities, as they do not dry easily and lose their insulating ability when they get wet.

Fiber-filled anoraks are both heavy and take up a lot of space.

For this reason, fleece garments worn under a breathable raincoat/anorak should always be preferred as they are more comfortable and lighter.

Trousers: We recommend the use of synthetic or semi-synthetic trekking trousers for walking. Jeans, linen etc. Clothes made of cotton materials, such as cotton, are not suitable for nature activities as they make movement difficult and do not dry quickly if they get wet. For winter climbing, you should definitely have shell trousers that are resistant to wind and wetness.

Underwear: Keep and wear at least one set of synthetic underwear.

Food and Drinks: Lunch is not included in our service at this event. We recommend that you bring practical food. We especially recommend that you have 1.5 – 2 liters of water on walking tours. Sugary drinks are not recommended as they will increase thirst even more over time. Depending on your preference, you can also bring some of your beverage as a hot drink in a thermos. We especially recommend that you bring hot drinks during the autumn-winter seasons.

Thermos: We recommend that you have a plastic or, best of all, a steel thermos with you, provided that it is not glass. In this way, you can carry hot drinks with you for activities that take place far from the campsite.

Head Lamp / Lantern: Since the days are short, especially during our winter walks, you should always have your head lamp / lantern with you, as it is necessary to be prepared for the dusk. The head lamp is a must-have equipment in our summer and winter bag.

Camera: We recommend that you bring a camera and spare film or memory card and batteries on our tours. We strongly recommend that you do not forget to take the necessary precautions to protect your machines if there is a transition from wet environments or a rainy weather expectation.

Sunglasses: Those with UV protection should be preferred in nature activities. Especially on snowy winter days, sunglasses are of great importance, they are the only precaution against retinal burn or snow blindness due to excessive radiation.

Protective Sunscreen, Moisturizers and Lipstick: We recommend high protection factor sunscreens for all seasons, with a minimum factor of 45.

First Aid and Medication: MONTIS Trips & Expeditions guides always carry extensive first aid kits. All of our tour leaders have the International First Aid in Nature (ECSII) Certificate. However, it is recommended that you always have your regular medications and a small personal first aid kit with you.

You can always call us for more information about the selection of materials to be brought to our activities.

Environmental Note: We do not leave any garbage or permanent traces in nature, so do not forget that everything you bring for walking tours should be returned after use. To carry your waste back, you can bring a small garbage bag with you or use the emptied plastic bags to put your garbage.
