October 11–15, 2025 | Early Booking Price Until September 12, 575 € (Regular Price: 620 €) In the Footsteps of Saint Paul in the Kingdom of Pisidia.
St. Paul, in some of his extensive journeys undertaken to spread Christianity, repeatedly called on the people of the region to embrace Christianity in the synagogues of the Pisidia region. The challenges of attracting people to a new religion are certain. However, even more challenging is advancing in the geography of this region. We are sure that St. Paul faced considerable difficulties as he ascended northward toward the lake region, passing through impassable Taurus Mountains, canyons filled with cascading waters, and labyrinth-like rock formations known today as “Adam Rocks.” Yet, it is this challenging geography that has kept the region virtually untouched even to this day. You will observe that the people of the region, like in ancient Pisidia, are still a resilient population capable of surviving in a rugged and harsh environment. This will help you understand why Great Alexander and subsequently the Romans could never establish complete dominance here. In the portion of the St. Paul Trail passing through this challenging geography, you will experience the coolness of the snowy Taurus Mountains, captivating views of vast canyons, the largest Mediterranean Cypress Forest in Anatolia, the geological marvel of Adam Rocks, and the magnificent Ottoman-era houses in Kesme with remarkable wood craftsmanship.
We are heading to the St. Paul Trail, which includes Turkey’s most untouched marked paths. Are you ready?

Day 1: Meeting at Antalya Airport. Visit to the Mediterranean Cypress Forest, Altınkaya-Adam Rocks hike (8 km).
After our meeting at Antalya Airport, we will embark on a 1-hour journey towards the Köprülü Canyon created by the Köprü River. Departing from the Alanya highway towards Psidia, we will reach the Oluk Bridge at the canyon, a structure with a width of only 3.5 meters, skillfully built by the Romans at the narrowest point of the canyon. We will cross this ancient bridge with our vehicle to reach Altınkaya. Along the way, we will traverse the world’s widest and last distribution areas of the Mediterranean Horizontal Cypress Forests. Much of the ancient settlement known as Altınkaya today is actually beneath the current fields and houses. Passing through the sedimentary rock structures known as Adam Rocks – a kind of fairy chimneys – we will enjoy a pleasant descent to the level of Eurymedon (Köprü Çay), the main formation reason for the massive canyons in this region. After a bit of cooling down, we will continue our walk through the forest on the opposite bank of the river and reunite with our vehicle. We will then proceed to Çaltepe village for a well-deserved rest at a pension run by a local family. After a delicious dinner and a briefing for the upcoming days, we retire to our rooms.

We will progress almost on a flat surface with a gentle slope for approximately 3.5 km. Then, we gradually start ascending on paths. Passing through rock gardens, Adam Rocks, goat pens, ancient terraces, and wall remnants, we will reach an altitude of approximately 1200m where we will have our lunch break among the ruins of an ancient temple. The Dedegöl Mountains will now be within our sight. Subsequently, we will enjoy a pleasant descent from Bel Sarnıç to Kasımlar-Fındık Bridge. Meeting our vehicle, we will head back to Çaltepe.

Our route, which includes occasional steep ascents and descents, will lead us through wide alluvial flat agricultural lands while following the meanders of the Köprülü River. Our general direction will be south, and we will stay on the right side of the river according to the flow. Main Travel Bag:Bring a travel bag large enough to carry your belongings between cities. Please do not bring hard-shell suitcases to nature tours. They are difficult to load into vehicles, cumbersome at campgrounds, and inconvenient inside tents. Soft duffel bags, backpacks, or sports bags are much more suitable for this trip.
Daypack:You’ll need a medium-sized backpack (35–45L) to carry personal items during daily hikes. We do not recommend carrying gear in your hands or hanging it outside the backpack during activities.
Rain Cover for Backpack:If your bag doesn’t include a rain cover, we strongly recommend bringing one, especially during rainy seasons.
Trekking Boots with Firm Soles:Avoid soft-soled shoes for long treks. If you’re a regular hiker, invest in waterproof trekking boots with firm, orthopedic soles. Durability and water resistance are key.
Spare Sneakers:Bring an extra pair of shoes for travel comfort or post-hike wear, which can stay in the vehicle or at camp.
Socks:Use synthetic trekking socks with padded toes and soles for maximum comfort. Always carry at least one spare pair for hikes.
Gloves & Beanie:In cold seasons, bring gloves and a beanie that covers your ears. You should have at least one pair of mid-layer gloves for this tour.
Hat:We recommend a brimmed hat that also protects the neck from sun exposure, suitable for all seasons. Bandanas or buffs are also great alternatives.
Rain Jacket (Anorak):Lightweight, breathable, and waterproof jackets are essential. Gore-Tex or similar materials are highly recommended to reduce internal moisture and protect against rain.
Fleece Jackets & Warm Layers:Fleece jackets and pullovers are lightweight and effective at retaining heat without absorbing moisture—ideal for outdoor activities. Avoid heavy wool or padded anoraks.
Pants and Shorts:Use synthetic or semi-synthetic trekking pants. Avoid jeans or cotton clothes—they restrict movement and take longer to dry. We don’t recommend shorts on hikes due to scratch and injury risks in dense or rugged terrain.
Drinks:Carry 1.5–2 liters of water during hikes. Avoid sugary drinks. In cooler seasons, bring hot drinks in a thermos if you like.
Thermos:Bring a plastic or steel (non-glass) thermos for hot beverages, especially useful when hiking far from the campsite.
Camera:Feel free to bring a camera along with extra memory cards, film, and batteries. If rain is expected, make sure your gear is properly protected.
Sunglasses:UV-protected sunglasses are essential, especially in snowy conditions to prevent snow blindness or retinal damage.
Sunscreen, Moisturizer, Lip Balm:Always carry high-SPF sunscreen (minimum SPF 45), regardless of the season.
First Aid & Medication:MONTIS Trips & Expeditions guides carry comprehensive first-aid kits and are certified in International Wilderness First Aid (ECSII). However, we advise you to carry your own medication and a personal basic kit.
For more information on gear selection, feel free to contact us anytime.
We strictly follow the “Leave No Trace” principle. Everything you bring must be taken back with you. Please bring a small trash bag or use empty plastic bags to carry your waste during hikes.
