Recommended Items and Suggestions for Camping Tours in Aladağlar:
Travel Bag: Use a sufficiently large bag for carrying your belongings during intercity travels. Please avoid hard suitcases for nature tours, as they can be problematic when loading into vehicles, carrying in the camp area, and placing inside the tent. Soft sports bags, backpacks, and similar types are suitable for this travel. During activities where we need to carry our camp load to the campsites, please bring backpacks with appropriate volume, comfort, and safety features.
Backpack: It is important that your backpack is large enough to carry the items you will need during the activity on a given day. We do not recommend carrying items in your hands or outside the backpack during nature walks. Therefore, medium-sized backpacks with a volume of 30-45 liters are the most suitable for such activities. Rain cover bag cases, which are now standard in many backpacks, are also an important detail needed in rainy weather. If your backpack does not have a rain cover, we recommend getting one additionally.
Sleeping Bag: We recommend bringing a sleeping bag suitable for seasonal conditions for your health and comfort. You can consult with us regarding the current weather conditions in the region, general climate conditions, and things to consider when buying a sleeping bag.
Hiking Boots with Sturdy Soles: For your health, please do not walk in the field for a long time with very flexible and soft-soled shoes. If you are a steady walker, we recommend getting trekking boots designed for walking in nature with a stiff and orthopedic sole. It is worth noting that water resistance is a sought-after feature in hiking boots, especially during rainy seasons.
Spare Sports Shoes: We recommend bringing an extra pair of shoes for comfort during journeys and as a spare pair of shoes after walking. You can leave them in the vehicle or at the camp during walking tours.
Socks: It is always more comfortable and healthy to walk with synthetic trekking socks with supported soles and toe tips. We recommend having an extra pair of socks with you on all walks.
Gloves and Hat: It is important to have gloves and a hat with you in cold weather. In nature tours, choose hats that cover your ears. In the mountains and tours at high altitudes, it is advisable to have both a hat and gloves even in the summer months.
Cap: We recommend having a cap with a brim, preferably one that protects your neck from the sun, all year round. Bandanas and buff-like materials are also among the recommendations for all seasons.
Raincoat: We especially recommend using lightweight, breathable, and reasonably rainproof raincoats or anoraks. Anoraks should always be with us during autumn-winter seasons and spring walks. We highly prefer Gore Tex or similar materials for raincoat anoraks, as they release the steam from your body, significantly preventing sweating from the inside, and are also very waterproof.
Polar Jacket and Warming Clothes: We recommend polar jackets and half-zip polar sweatshirts as they are light, do not tend to hold moisture, and are among the recommended types of warming clothes for outdoor activities. Woolen clothes are not very suitable for outdoor activities. Fiber-filled anoraks are both heavy and take up a lot of space. Therefore, polar clothes worn under a breathable raincoat/anorak are always preferred for their comfort and lightness.
Pants and Shorts: We recommend using synthetic or semi-synthetic trekking pants for walks. Clothing made of cotton, linen, and similar materials is not suitable for nature activities as they make movement difficult and do not dry quickly when wet. We generally do not recommend shorts and short clothes for walks as they do not protect you from scratches and minor injuries in rugged terrain or trails with dense vegetation.
